A central feature of the display is the Chunmoo Multiple Rocket Launcher System, supported by full-scale models of four guided missile types including the Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile. Hanwha stated that these missiles provide ranges from 80 kilometres to 290 kilometres, highlighting the system’s versatility and firepower.
The company aims to promote Chunmoo as the preferred MRLS option for the Egyptian Armed Forces. It said the system aligns with regional modernisation efforts and is backed by operational use in Poland and several Middle Eastern countries.
Hanwha will also outline progress on the K9 Self-Propelled Howitzer programme, with local co-production in Egypt scheduled to begin. The full K9 Package will be presented, including the K10 Ammunition Resupply Vehicle and the K11 Fire Direction Center Vehicle, alongside advanced ammunition such as 155mm Precision Guided Munitions and the Modular Charge System.
EDEX 2025 also marks the debut of the K11-N, an armoured fire direction vehicle customised for the Egyptian Navy’s coastal defence missions. The platform includes an Electro-Optical Targeting System and radar to support accurate tracking of hostile vessels.
To address the region’s demand for multi-layered air defence, Hanwha will propose integrated solutions featuring the L-SAM and M-SAM systems as well as counter-drone technologies. The stand will additionally include the Taipers anti-tank guided missile and three variants of the Tigon armoured vehicle intended as options for fleet replacement.
“Hanwha Aerospace has already established a solid strategic partnership with Egypt through the K9 program,” said Sung Il, Head of the Middle East and North Africe(MENA) Region at Hanwha Aerospace. “Through this exhibition, we intend to continuecontributing to the enhancement of Egypt’s national defence capabilities by providing tailored solutions that meet the specific requirements of the Egyptian Armed Forces.”
