HENSOLDT reports strong growth in orders and revenue in first nine months of 2025

By Defence Industry Europe

Sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT recorded an order intake of around EUR 1.1 billion between October 2023 and January 2024. All business units contributed to this. These include major orders such as the German air defence system Nah- und Nahbereichschutz (LVS NNbS) commissioned in January, further procurements of the TRML-4D air defence radar and for the radar of the Eurofighter and optical systems for armoured vehicles. "As is usual in our business, we received a large number of orders before and around the turn of the year. It clearly shows that we are fully on track with our growth targets," says HENSOLDT CFO Christian Ladurner.

German defence electronics company HENSOLDT has reported continued growth in the first nine months of 2025, driven by increasing defence spending in Germany and across Europe. The company’s order intake rose to EUR 2,017 million, up from EUR 1,856 million in the same period last year, while revenue increased to EUR 1,536 million from EUR 1,377 million.

Both the Sensors and Optronics segments contributed to this positive development, although pass-through business continued to decline compared with the previous year. Adjusted EBITDA rose to EUR 211 million from EUR 187 million, with the adjusted EBITDA margin slightly improving to 13.7% from 13.6%.

Oliver Dörre, CEO of HENSOLDT, said: “Defence spending in Germany and Europe continues to gain momentum and the Zeitenwende 2.0 is beginning to have a tangible impact. This is not only reflected in our order books, but increasingly in our production sites as well. We are thus taking responsibility for Europe’s defence capabilities. As a reliable partner to our customers, our focus is now on meeting the growing demand with maximum efficiency and quality.”

Christian Ladurner, CFO of HENSOLDT, added: “Our results for the first nine months of 2025 and the recent adjustment of our full-year guidance demonstrate that HENSOLDT is translating the continuously rising demand into profitable growth through financial discipline and strong execution. The record order backlog gives us an exceptionally high degree of visibility – and the necessary stability to expand our capacities in a targeted manner for further ramp-up.”

In the Sensors segment, growth was supported by extended contracts for Eurofighter Mk1 radars and further orders for TRML-4D and Spexer radars, contributing to a 9.3% increase in revenue. The Optronics segment saw strong order intake from retrofitting U212A-class submarines and additional Ground-Based Systems, leading to a 27.5% revenue increase year-on-year.

Both segments recorded a rise in adjusted EBITDA, largely due to higher sales volumes. Although the start-up phase of the new logistics centre continued to have a weakening effect, overall business performance remained robust and in line with the company’s strategic objectives.
