HENSOLDT secures over EUR 1.4 billion in defence orders between October and January

By Defence Industry Europe

German defence technology company HENSOLDT has recorded an order intake exceeding EUR 1.4 billion between October 2024 and January 2025. The strong performance reflects demand across all business units, including contracts for the Eurofighter Mk1 radar, optronic systems for the Leopard 2A8, and the modernisation of the Bundeswehr’s Electronic Warfare Centre (ZEK).

A major contributor to this growth is the contract extension for the Eurofighter Common Radar System Mk1 (ECRS Mk1), valued at approximately EUR 350 million. This extension ensures the continued development of an advanced, battle-ready radar system for the German and Spanish Air Forces.

HENSOLDT has also secured a EUR 68 million contract to supply optronic and optical systems for 123 Leopard 2A8 main battle tanks. These systems will provide the German and Norwegian armed forces with state-of-the-art battlefield surveillance and targeting capabilities.

In addition, the company will upgrade the sensor systems of the Fennek armoured reconnaissance vehicle through a EUR 56 million order. The contract includes 92 sets of BAA III observation and reconnaissance equipment, introducing a new standard in modern military surveillance.

Together with Airbus, HENSOLDT will also modernise the Bundeswehr’s Electronic Warfare Centre (ZEK) as part of the IT-SEKUS ZEK programme. The EUR 38 million project will deliver advanced software and hardware solutions, ensuring the long-term operational readiness of Germany’s air defence systems.

HENSOLDT’s Chief Financial Officer, Christian Ladurner, highlighted the strong momentum in order intake, particularly at the turn of the year. He emphasised the company’s focus on expanding capacity and increasing efficiency to meet growing demand, while also pointing to strong future growth potential in sensor and electronic warfare solutions.

With these latest contracts, HENSOLDT continues to strengthen its position as a leading European defence technology provider, delivering cutting-edge sensor solutions for modern military operations.
