Honeywell announced it has signed a supplier framework agreement with the U.S. Department of War to accelerate the production of critical defense technologies. The agreement includes a $500 million multi-year investment to expand and upgrade the company’s manufacturing capacity.

Honeywell Aerospace is among the first Tier 1 suppliers to enter into this type of agreement with the department. The move reflects a focus on delivering defense capabilities to U.S. and allied forces at increased speed and scale.

“Honeywell Aerospace is proud to embrace the challenge and meet this urgent need. Our commercial operating system enables us to invest in advanced technologies and manufacture at scale and speed, delivering a substantial and enduring benefit to the customer and taxpayers,” said Jim Currier, president and CEO of Honeywell Aerospace.

Under the agreement, the company will increase production of navigation systems used in demanding operational environments. These systems, including inertial navigation technologies, are widely deployed across aerospace, defense and industrial applications and support precision-guided munitions globally.

Honeywell Aerospace will also expand output of its Assure actuators, which provide missile maneuverability and electronic control. These systems are designed for interceptor, tactical and other high-performance missile platforms requiring speed and precision.

In addition, the agreement covers increased production of electronic warfare solutions used across U.S. military platforms. These technologies support applications ranging from fighter aircraft to missile systems, as well as signals and electronic intelligence operations.

Honeywell stated that its aerospace technologies are deployed on a wide range of commercial, defense and space aircraft, as well as terrestrial systems. The business unit develops engines, avionics, connectivity, and power systems aimed at improving efficiency, operational performance and safety.
