Field testing of the Hydrostrut units enabled the USMC to issue first production orders to V2X and Horstman within 15 months of Horstman’s initial offer to supply systems for testing. Current production orders are planned to continue through December 2026, reflecting close cooperation between the partners involved.
Chris Melkonian, Programme Manager Advanced Amphibious Assault, said: “From start to finish, the identification-to-fielding timeframe demonstrated the effective working relationship the PMO has with private industry.” He added: “The Hydrostrut suspension will help to bolster availability of parts necessary to maintaining this amphibious capability for the USMC.”
Jeremy C. Wensinger, President and CEO of V2X, stated: “This collaboration highlights V2X’s ability to leverage advanced technologies in defense programs, ensuring our customers have mission-ready solutions.” Gareth Elwell, CEO of the Horstman Group, said: “We are proud to expand this legacy through our cooperation with the USMC and V2X, and we look forward to advancing vehicle performance and reliability through our next-generation suspension technologies.”
