Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) Director General Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram visited a space facility jointly operated by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), the Ministry’s Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D), and the Israel Defense Forces. He was joined by IAI CEO Boaz Levy, Head of the DDR&D’s Space Directorate Avi Berger, and other senior defence establishment officials.

During the visit, the Director General toured an operational ground station that supports several satellites used by the defence establishment. He also reviewed real-time operational satellite imagery related to the ongoing fighting in Iran and discussed developments in the space domain and their direct contribution to Israel Defense Forces strikes in the current campaign.

The discussions focused on how space-based capabilities support intelligence and operational planning during the ongoing military campaign. The visit also addressed the role of cooperation between defence institutions and industry in supporting satellite operations and technological development.

Amir Baram said that Israel’s space capabilities are central to operational achievements in the current conflict. He stated: “Israel’s space capabilities are producing groundbreaking combat achievements in intelligence for warfare and operations, target generation, and rapid operational cycles. Behind them stands a unique ecosystem of industry and DDR&D engineers working alongside the Unit 9900, the C4I and Cyber Directorate, and the Israel Air Force. This partnership enables rapid learning and real-time implementation of technological developments, granting Israel superpower capabilities. Space is a first-order strategic national priority. We will continue to advance the buildup of space power by every means possible.”
