Both satellites have established communication and are now undergoing early routine operations. This launch adds to ICEYE’s growing constellation, bringing the total number of satellites deployed since 2018 to 40, with nine launched in 2024 alone. These new additions feature ICEYE’s latest 25 cm imaging technology, providing customers with improved imaging capacity and coverage.
The satellites were deployed into mid-inclination orbits, offering more than twice the collection opportunities at middle latitudes compared to polar orbits. This configuration benefits customers with imaging interests within +/- 45 degrees latitude, while customers targeting areas outside these regions continue to enjoy frequent revisit opportunities through ICEYE’s polar orbit satellites. The combination of mid-inclination and polar orbits enables ICEYE to deliver comprehensive revisit capabilities for targets worldwide.
“This launch marks another significant milestone in ICEYE’s ability to provide our customers with a rich diversity of collection opportunities,” said Rafal Modrzewski, CEO and Co-founder of ICEYE. “We bolster our industry-leading SAR constellation and expand our customers’ collection opportunities in the areas most important to them.”
The launch reflects ICEYE’s commitment to continuous innovation in Earth observation. This year, the company introduced the Dwell Precise 25 cm imaging mode, delivering the highest-fidelity imaging capabilities to its customers. ICEYE also launched an API for direct satellite tasking and introduced ICEYE Ocean Vision, a service providing actionable intelligence for maritime domain awareness.
