The LMV-BR 2 is based on IDV’s Light Multirole Vehicle platform and has been developed to improve mobility, protection and versatility for troops in a range of operational environments. The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior representatives of the Brazilian Army, who reviewed the facility and its industrial capabilities.
The new production line represents an expansion of IDV’s manufacturing and technological capacity in Brazil. The company said the development supports its commitment to strengthening the country’s defence industrial base while meeting operational requirements of military forces.
The Brazilian Army currently operates 32 LMV-BR 4×4 vehicles, which are supported through ongoing maintenance and service by IDV. The company said the fleet’s reliability and availability demonstrate its focus on sustaining operational readiness.
IDV stated that the new facility will also support its international growth by enabling future export opportunities. The company added that the expansion reinforces Brazil’s role as a hub for the production and supply of defence vehicles to global markets.
The LMV platform is IDV’s primary product in the light multirole vehicle segment, with more than 4,000 units in service worldwide. It is available in multiple configurations with varying protection levels and mission-specific adaptations.
