The Lanza radar is renowned for its reliability and ability to remain operational under all conditions, ensuring effective airspace surveillance. It is capable of detecting fifth-generation aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones, with a particular advantage in detecting targets in rainy environments like Thailand, where other radar systems may struggle.
The system incorporates advanced algorithms to resist interference attempts and minimise disruptions caused by wind turbines and solar plants. This cutting-edge technology ensures accurate detection even in challenging operational conditions.
This contract marks the second radar delivery to the Thai Air Force by Indra. The first radar, with similar capabilities, was accompanied by the Airdef system, which supports airspace monitoring and mission management.
Francisco Jiménez, Indra’s Defence Systems Business Development director, commented: “We take great pride in the fact that the Thai Air Force has once again placed its trust in us and our ability to adapt our systems to their specific operational requirements. Our systems have been designed to operate around the clock to ensure that we play a critical role in the country’s security.”
Indra’s radars are in use across 30 countries on five continents, including NATO operations. Their systems fulfil a range of military needs, from near-Earth space surveillance to naval combat and anti-drone defence, showcasing the company’s versatility and technological leadership.
