By Defence Industry Europe

The U.S. Army Europe and Africa International Tank Challenge will take place at the Grafenwoehr Training Area in Germany from 7 to 20 February 2025. Competing in this year’s event are tank crews from Denmark, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland, and the United States.

Hosted by the U.S. Army’s 7th Army Training Command (7ATC), the challenge will test participants’ marksmanship, physical endurance, and mental agility. In addition to fostering team spirit, the competition aims to strengthen cooperation among NATO Allies and Partners.

Tank crews will engage in a series of tasks, including offensive and defensive manoeuvres and small arms exercises. The event offers an opportunity for soldiers to enhance their battlefield skills while exchanging tactics, techniques, and procedures.

The challenge is a revival of the “Strong Europe Tank Challenge,” which took place at Grafenwoehr from 2016 to 2018. This year’s competition continues the tradition of enhancing multinational military cooperation and interoperability.
