The Director of the CIA, John Ratcliffe, has confirmed that Iran’s nuclear programme has suffered serious damage as a result of recent targeted strikes. In a public statement, he said that “a body of credible intelligence indicates Iran’s Nuclear Program has been severely damaged by the recent, targeted strikes.”

Ratcliffe further stated that the intelligence includes information from “a historically reliable and accurate source/method” indicating that “several key Iranian nuclear facilities were destroyed and would have to be rebuilt over the course of years.” This suggests long-term disruption to Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

The CIA is continuing to gather further intelligence from reliable sources to ensure that relevant decision-makers and oversight bodies remain fully informed. Ratcliffe also noted the agency’s commitment to transparency, adding, “When possible, we will also provide updates and information to the American public, given the national importance of this matter.”
