The signing took place during the opening day of the Seafuture exhibition in La Spezia, in the presence of Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto, Greek Defence Minister Nikos Dendias, and Admiral Enrico Credendino, Chief of Staff of the Italian Navy.

The agreement marks a key development in bilateral defence cooperation and underlines the strategic value of Fincantieri-built ships, which are recognised internationally as a benchmark in national military shipbuilding. It also aims to enhance collaboration, interoperability, and joint industrial initiatives in the maritime sector.

The final contract, which remains subject to standard approvals, will include a support package to be handled by Fincantieri, drawing on its expertise in after-sales services. The two naval units are expected to be replaced by new shipbuilding orders in the near future.
