Kitron secures NOK 300 million order for Naval Strike Missile electronics

By Defence Industry Europe

Norwegian electronics manufacturer Kitron has announced a new order worth NOK 300 million from Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. The order, which builds on a similar contract awarded in June 2024, focuses on the production of electronics for the Naval Strike Missile (NSM).

Deliveries for the newly secured contract are scheduled to begin in 2026. The production will take place at Kitron’s facilities in Arendal, Norway, a site that is currently undergoing significant investment to enhance its manufacturing capabilities.

“This order reaffirms Kitron’s status as a dependable and robust industrial partner for Kongsberg,” said Heine Østby, Managing Director of Kitron Norway. He highlighted the long-standing partnership between the companies and noted that ongoing investments in the Arendal facility would ensure secure and efficient delivery of components for this critical defence system.

Kitron’s President and CEO, Peter Nilsson, also emphasised the strategic importance of the order. “This aligns with the long-term growth expectations outlined in last year’s Capital Markets Presentation on December 10, further strengthening Kitron’s presence in the defence and missile systems market,” he stated.
