Kongsberg has signed a contract worth about NOK 700 million with Hyundai-Rotem Company to supply remote weapon stations for K2 vehicles ordered by the Polish Armed Forces.

Under the deal, Kongsberg will provide its Protector RS4 Remote Weapon Stations (RWS) for the K2 programme in Poland. The work covers three versions of the K2 rather than the tank alone.

The RS4 stations will be fitted to the K2 Main Battle Tank (MBT) and the K2 Armored Recovery Vehicle (ARV). The third variant included in the contract is the K2 Combat Engineering Vehicle (CEV).

Kongsberg expects to start shipping the first systems for integration into the vehicles in spring 2027. The contract also includes an Integrated Product Support (IPS) package, which covers initial spare parts, training and other support services.

For Kongsberg, the order builds on an existing working relationship with the South Korean company. “This contract further strengthens the long-standing cooperation between KONGSBERG and Hyundai Rotem Company and reinforces Kongsberg’s position as a leading supplier of advanced remote weapon systems for international defence programmes,” said Kjetil Reiten Myhra, Executive Vice President, Kongsberg, and President of the Defence Systems division.
