Kuwait signs contract for Bayraktar TB2 drones

Kuwait has signed a contract worth USD 367 million with Turkish defense firm Baykar to acquire its Bayraktar TB2 drones. The agreement was reached through direct negotiations between the two governments.

The exact number of Bayraktar TB2 drones to be delivered and the timeline were not disclosed in the statement provided by the Kuwaiti army.

 




The Bayraktar TB2 drones gained significant popularity in the international market after being deployed in conflicts in Syria, Libya, and Azerbaijan. Their effectiveness, highlighted in the media, in countering Russian forces during Ukraine’s military operations further increased interest in these drones.

Kuwait’s contract with Baykar makes it the 28th country worldwide to procure the Bayraktar TB2 drones.
