The motors are intended for Kratos’ U.S. Department of War customers and will support hypersonic vehicle and ballistic missile defence testing. These activities include programmes such as the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonic Test Bed.
Zeus motors are designed to replace legacy suborbital rocket motors in fit and form while delivering increased performance using existing designs and infrastructure. L3Harris designed the motors in Huntsville, Alabama, and produces them at its Camden, Arkansas, energetics campus, which manufactures more than 115,000 solid rocket motors annually across a wide range of sizes.
