Leonardo DRS awarded multiple SHIELD IDIQ contracts under $151 billion Missile Defense Agency program

U.S. defence contractor Northrop Grumman is positioning itself to play a central role in the Pentagon’s planned “Golden Dome for America” missile defence system, as the company expands its involvement in integrated air and missile defence amid rising international demand and new U.S. defence funding priorities.

Leonardo DRS has announced it has been awarded multiple contracts under the Missile Defense Agency Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract. The SHIELD IDIQ contract carries a ceiling value of $151 billion and covers a broad range of work areas intended to enable the rapid delivery of innovative capabilities to the warfighter with increased speed and agility.

 

The company said it brings rapid design and manufacturing capabilities to support accelerated innovation for U.S. defense customers. Leonardo DRS operates nationwide and focuses on designing, manufacturing, and delivering integrated technologies to advance next-generation air and missile defense capabilities across multiple domains.

According to the company, its mission expertise and industrial footprint allow it to help customers accelerate capability from concept through production and sustainment. The work is aimed at meeting evolving threats with speed, scale, and reliability.
