Lockheed Martin awarded key U.S. Army contract for IFPC 2nd interceptor air defence system

Lockheed Martin has secured an Integrated Fires Protection Capability (IFPC) 2nd Interceptor Project Agreement from the U.S. Army under the Other Transaction Authority (OTA). The contract strengthens the company’s role in advancing America’s air and missile defence systems and is expected to generate 15 years of business.

The contract strengthens the company’s role in advancing America’s air and missile defence systems and is expected to generate 15 years of business.

 

The IFPC 2nd Interceptor will bridge the gap between short-range air defence and the Patriot missile system, enhancing integrated and layered defence capabilities. Lockheed Martin will oversee the development, production and delivery of the system, drawing on its established expertise in missile defence, command and control, and advanced technology.

The agreement highlights Lockheed Martin’s sustained investment in 21st Century Security solutions and advanced technologies to address complex security threats. Over the course of the programme, the company will collaborate closely with the U.S. Army to drive innovation and deliver consistent high performance.

Lockheed Martin is also working with AeroVironment on the IFPC 2nd Interceptor Programme, further strengthening its capability to meet evolving defence requirements.
