Lockheed Martin has completed its acquisition of Amentum’s Rapid Solutions portfolio, strengthening its radar and payload capabilities. The move is designed to enhance the company’s Golden Dome offering and reinforce its role in supporting national security missions.

“We’re excited to officially welcome Rapid Solutions to the Lockheed Martin team,” said Robert Lightfoot, president of Lockheed Martin Space. “Its highly skilled workforce and key radar and payload technology will play an integral part in Lockheed Martin’s ability to anticipate customer needs and maintain national security infrastructure.”

The Rapid Solutions business specialises in space and airborne mission systems, particularly in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technologies. Its integration will enable Lockheed Martin to offer more comprehensive solutions to meet evolving threats and mission requirements.

Lockheed Martin highlighted that combining its space-based systems with Rapid Solutions’ radar capabilities addresses a growing demand for enhanced situational awareness. These capabilities are crucial within the company’s Golden Dome for America architecture, aimed at giving users a critical decision-making advantage.

Tahllee Baynard, vice president of the Ignite rapid development team at Lockheed Martin Space, stated, “Lockheed Martin is growing its portfolio to meet increased customer demands for domain awareness and real-time missions. The acquisition of Rapid Solutions not only positions us more competitively for critical national security missions, but also reinforces a continued investment in leading the nation’s defense capabilities and driving innovation across the industry.”

The Rapid Solutions team will now be integrated into Lockheed Martin’s Space business area.
