The majority of the work—80%—will be conducted at Lockheed Martin’s facility in Fort Worth, Texas, with the remaining 20% carried out at undisclosed international locations. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the project is scheduled for completion in July 2026.
“This modification will support software development and systems engineering for Israel’s System Development and Design Phase II efforts,” the Pentagon stated. The agreement is part of ongoing cooperation between the U.S. and Israel on the advanced F-35 fighter jet.
The contract is being overseen by the Naval Air Systems Command based in Patuxent River, Maryland. Foreign Military Sales funds have been obligated, with $7.7 million allocated specifically for the Israeli development work.
