Designed for high-intensity conflict scenarios, the ONE WAY EFFECTOR aims to strike a balance between performance and cost efficiency. It responds to growing military demands for scalable solutions capable of delivering mass effect on the battlefield.
Based on operational feedback, particularly from the conflict in Ukraine, the system is conceived as an attrition weapon to exhaust enemy air defences. Launched from the ground in salvoes, it carries a warhead significant enough to compel adversaries to engage it, thereby forcing them to reveal their positions.
This exposure enables complementary systems to detect and neutralise even the most sophisticated defence assets. In this way, the ONE WAY EFFECTOR supports broader strike strategies by applying persistent pressure on hostile forces.
Eric Béranger, CEO of MBDA, stated: “ONE WAY EFFECTOR once again demonstrates MBDA’s agility to innovate and seek new ways to meet the challenges of the new conflicts doctrines.” He added: “MBDA has already demonstrated its ability to scale up, and continues to adapt through the development of new effectors that meet the need for mass, thanks to unique partnerships with civilian industry.”
The new system builds on MBDA’s expertise in cruise missiles and remotely operated munitions. It integrates the latest drone technologies and utilises production capabilities from the civilian sector.
With a new industrial model rooted in close cooperation with the automotive industry, MBDA aims to enable mass production at a rate of up to a thousand units per month. This approach is designed to meet the demand for high-volume output in modern warfare.
By introducing the ONE WAY EFFECTOR, MBDA expands its portfolio of saturation weapons. It reinforces the company’s position as the only European provider offering a full spectrum of systems for operational forces, “from decision-making weapons to saturation effectors,” as Béranger highlighted.
