MBDA has reached a major milestone after signing its first contract for the development and production of the One Way Effector with the Direction Générale de l'Armement. The agreement covers a sovereign long-range solution designed to saturate enemy defences and underlines MBDA’s capacity to accelerate innovation in line with operational requirements.

The contract strengthens MBDA’s portfolio while supporting national and European sovereignty and responding to the evolving needs of the armed forces. It also reflects the company’s focus on remaining closely aligned with real-world operational environments.

Unveiled during the Paris Air Show in June 2025, the One Way Effector demonstrates MBDA’s response to increasingly complex and contested battlefields. The system offers a compromise between mass and performance at lower cost, providing a robust and cost-effective capability for high-intensity conflict.

Developed with partner Aviation Design and key industry players, the One Way Effector is intended for production at scale to meet modern warfare demands. Less than a year elapsed between the project’s announcement, first test firing and initial contract signature, a pace enabled by the DGA’s Defence Drone Pact and its cooperative, agile approach with industry.
