Lithuania’s most recent assistance, namely missile launchers of NASAMS mid-range air defence system, has been delivered to Ukraine. Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas underscores Lithuania’s unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s support.

“The NASAMS launchers bought by Lithuania will be integrated in fire control units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine building on the operational capability composed of NASAMS donated by the United States and Norway. The assistance from us remains a vital factor in Ukraine’s defence. We hear Ukraine’s needs well and encourage the Allies to do the same,” says Anušauskas.

The Defence Materiel Agency under the MoD signed the contract regarding the NASAMS purchase with Norway’s Kongsberg this June. Full-scope comprehensive training for Ukrainian troops, including for drivers and maintenance personnel, was completed in Norway ahead of the assistance transfer.

Lithuania complemented the NASAMS launcher package with high-mobility vehicles vital for NASAMS crews. This package comes with significant help from the Ministry of Defence of Norway that gifted NASAMS launcher maintenance equipment and fire distribution (FDS) centers.
