JATEC is the first civil-military organisation to be jointly operated by NATO and a partner nation. It aims to support Ukraine’s defence sector, enhance its deterrence capabilities, and improve its interoperability with NATO forces.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Shekerinska described JATEC as part of NATO’s ongoing commitment to Ukraine. She also acknowledged the contributions of Supreme Allied Commander Transformation Admiral Pierre Vandier, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna, and Polish Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The centre will play a key role in analysing lessons learned from Russia’s war against Ukraine. It will also contribute to NATO’s overall deterrence efforts and strengthen cooperation between Allied and Ukrainian forces.
By hosting JATEC, Poland reinforces its position as a key NATO partner. The initiative reflects the Alliance’s long-term strategy to enhance security and stability in the region.
