With Deep Precision Strike (DPS) weapons, it becomes possible to accurately strike well-defended targets deep in enemy territory. These weapons are capable of operating without navigation systems such as GPS, allowing them to locate and neutralise targets independently.
The JTSC will process detailed intelligence on military targets, ensuring precision and coordination during operations. It is also responsible for planning and managing weapon routes, working closely with other actors in the deployment area to guarantee safe and effective use.
Coordination is critical to ensure that airspace is clear of aircraft and that dynamic factors such as target movement and environmental conditions are considered. This thorough planning helps to prevent accidents or other unintended effects during missions.
Personnel from across the Dutch armed forces will staff the JTSC, bringing together domain-specific expertise. The Ministry stated this integration is designed “to combine and maximise the use of specialised knowledge from every domain during the deployment of Dutch (long-range) weapons.”
