With the addition of SENTINEL, the Do228 NXT further strengthens its role as a versatile special mission platform. The new sensor option enhances performance in demanding operations, particularly in remote areas or environments with damaged communication infrastructure.
The CPLS SENTINEL is a cellular geolocation system designed to locate missing or endangered individuals with high accuracy. By using preloaded or newly scanned cell tower data, it creates an offline operational map and detects a target phone’s signal without accessing live networks or personal user data.
Using Phase Difference of Arrival analysis, the system determines precise locations and presents operators with directional cues, coordinates, and mapping support through a graphical interface. It also allows direct text or voice contact and enables mission-ready coordinates to be exported to external command systems.
The Do228 NXT is designed for sensor integration, supported by its rectangular fuselage cross-section and multiple installation points. Its short takeoff and landing performance, reliability, flexible cabin configuration, and growing range of sensor options support a wide spectrum of missions.
With the integration of the CPLS SENTINEL, General Atomics AeroTec Systems further reinforces the Do228 NXT’s position as a leading multi-role aircraft. Operators worldwide can carry out search and rescue, border and maritime surveillance, disaster relief, medical evacuation, and environmental monitoring missions more effectively.
