Highlighting the strength of the transatlantic bond, the leaders reaffirmed their determination to protect Euro-Atlantic security amidst grave challenges. “We are united by a shared perception of threats and readiness to do what is needed to counter them,” they stated, emphasizing the indispensability of collective efforts.
A significant focus of the summit was Ukraine, with the leaders pledging to intensify support in the face of ongoing Russian aggression. The joint statement highlighted their status as leading per-capita contributors of military assistance to Ukraine and vowed to continue this support to secure “a comprehensive, just and lasting peace.” Plans include increased investment in Ukrainian defence industries and the provision of additional ammunition.
The leaders also endorsed the Ukrainian Victory Plan, reaffirming their commitment to Ukraine’s full integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures. They called on the global community to match their resolve, stating, “Ukraine’s courage and resilience will be backed by strong and steadfast support by our countries whereby military assistance is an integral part.”
The summit highlighted Russia’s sustained aggression as the most significant long-term threat to regional security. The leaders condemned Russia’s illegal war and hybrid tactics, which they believe have destabilized the Euro-Atlantic area and undermined global peace. In response, they committed to strengthening collective deterrence, expanding sanctions against Russia and its enablers, and ensuring international accountability for Russia’s actions.
The declaration concluded with a reaffirmation of unity among the Nordic-Baltic states and Poland, reflecting their readiness to counter shared threats through cooperation and resilience. This summit reinforced their commitment to a secure, stable, and united Euro-Atlantic region in the face of escalating challenges.
