Northrop Grumman to establish ammunition production facility in Ukraine

At the Embassy of Ukraine to the United States, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with top executives of leading American defence companies, continuing the dialogue initiated in Washington last December. In addition, JSC Ukrainian Defence Industry and Northrop Grumman signed an agreement to establish a new medium-caliber ammunition production facility in accordance with NATO standards.

 

The meeting was attended by representatives of BAE Systems, Day & Zimmermann, Boeing, Sierra Nevada Company, Northrop Grumman, RTX, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, D&M Holding, AeroVironment, Amentum.

“We are extremely grateful for your cooperation and assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war. You have greatly helped us to defend our freedom, democracy, our people, our families and children,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.

Volodymyr Zelensky also thanked U.S. President Joseph Biden, his administration and the U.S. Congress for an important bill supporting Ukraine and our warriors on the battlefield.

 

 

Volodymyr Zelensky invited American defence companies to work in the Ukrainian market and to cooperate with domestic enterprises.

He noted that Ukraine has significantly increased its own production of ammunition and weapons. At the same time, there is a need for increased international cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of joint defence production, in particular, of ammunition, air defence systems, guns, armored vehicles and drones, and ensuring the repair and maintenance of military hardware.

In addition, in the presence of the President of Ukraine, JSC Ukrainian Defence Industry and Northrop Grumman signed an agreement to establish a new medium-caliber ammunition production facility in accordance with NATO standards.
