Otokar, Türkiye’s largest land platform exporter, has announced a new 83.6 million US dollar order for its Cobra II 4×4 tactical armoured wheeled vehicle. The company said the vehicles, sold under an export registered contract, are scheduled for delivery in 2025.

Sedef Vehbi, Otokar Military Cluster Head, said the company continues to strengthen its global footprint in land systems. She stated: “Being a listed NATO and UN supplier, more than 33,000 Otokar military vehicles are actively serving in over 40 countries. These vehicles provide high performance and enhanced security in the most critical missions, ranging from combat operations to peacekeeping duties in the most challenging terrains.”

Vehbi underlined how the company applies worldwide operational experience to ongoing vehicle development. She said: “We reflect the experience acquired from diverse regions of the world into our continuous vehicle development efforts, tailored to the changing needs of our customers. Cobra II is one of the world’s best armored vehicles in its class. It is successfully serving in many different missions in Turkiye and many different countries.”

Otokar confirmed that the Cobra II is now in active use by more than 20 users in 13 countries. The combat proven vehicle is operated by armies worldwide across difficult terrain and varying climate conditions.

The company noted that the Cobra II draws on nearly four decades of Otokar’s defence industry expertise. Designed as a modular platform, it can be configured for a wide range of mission requirements, and since its 2013 launch around 30 variants have been developed to meet diverse operational needs.

Along with its high mobility, the Cobra II provides protection against ballistic, mine and improvised explosive device threats. Otokar says its high power to weight ratio supports strong performance, and the vehicle can integrate a broad set of weapon systems and mission equipment.
