PDW was recently awarded a $20.9 million contract by the U.S. Army to deliver C100 drones equipped with MMPs as part of the Army’s ‘Transformation in Contact’ initiative. Initially designed for these emerging Army requirements, the system is now in production and available for both new and existing customers.
The MMP suite builds on the C100’s compact, portable design by integrating advanced payloads that enhance battlefield awareness and communications while preserving the drone’s tactical edge. “The C100’s MMPs provide three specific capabilities identified as critical needs by the Army,” said PDW CEO and cofounder Ryan Gury. “Any military unit operating in contested environments would benefit from these capabilities and we are actively producing and ready to deliver on this need.”
The payloads include the Mastodon FireBeast for signal intelligence, the Silvus StreamCaster MANET for communication relay, and PDW’s own A-PNT visual navigation module. These features enable the C100 to perform missions without relying on GPS, improving resilience and mission success in environments affected by jamming or spoofing.
PDW partnered with existing high-TRL U.S. Army suppliers to ensure the MMP suite met operational standards. The integrated capabilities now support EM Spectrum Operations and improve situational awareness for ground commanders across dynamic mission sets.
MMPs can be added to existing C100 systems through mount and software upgrades, or purchased pre-integrated in a ready-to-deploy configuration. PDW has also updated its training programmes to ensure operators can fully utilise the enhanced mission features provided by the MMP suite.
