PDW wins first U.S. Air Force contract for C100 multi-mission unmanned aerial system

American drone manufacturer PDW has secured its first contract with the U.S. Air Force for its C100 multi-mission unmanned aerial system (UAS), marking a significant step in the company’s expansion across the U.S. military. The contract was awarded by the 93rd Air Ground Operations Wing (AGOW), based at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia, which oversees four subordinate units supporting a range of Air Force missions.

PDW, a developer of advanced small robotic systems for defence and government operations, focuses on providing secure, reliable, and NDAA-compliant technologies for the sector. The company emphasises innovation and collaboration to meet operational needs and assist the defence community in achieving its goals.

“The U.S. Air Force is seeking advanced, modular solutions to fill a critical gap in rapidly deployable, multi-mission aerial platforms and PDW’s C100 is the perfect system to deliver on this need,” said Ryan Gury, CEO and co-founder of PDW. “The 93rd AGOW’s operational diversity is a perfect match for the C100’s modular payload ecosystem and unmatched performance across a range of mission profiles.”

The C100, PDW’s flagship Group 2 UAS, has been designed for high agility, endurance, and tactical versatility. Capable of 74-minute flight times, speeds of up to 40 mph, and an operational range exceeding 10 kilometres, it can be adapted for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and kinetic operations.

“The C100’s industry-leading performance and payload modularity enables rapid adaptation and overmatch to evolving threats the Air Force faces across the globe,” added Gury. “We’re proud to help bring that flexibility and scalability to the Air Force’s tactical edge.”

This latest contract follows PDW’s earlier agreements with the U.S. Army, including participation in the Medium Range Reconnaissance (MRR) programme and the Transformation in Contact Initiative.
