Since then, the company has continuously supported the global Black Hawk supply chain by delivering high-quality components for helicopter assembly in both the United States and Poland. Each cabin represents the work of hundreds of engineers, technicians, and specialists dedicated to ensuring precision, safety, and reliability.
“The completion of the 700th cabin is the result of a proven process, high quality standards, and our highly experienced workforce,” said Janusz Zakręcki, PZL Mielec President, General Director. “It is a great success and a testament to the trust our partners place in the quality and reliability delivered by PZL Mielec on the Black Hawk helicopter, F-16 fighter jet and more.”
The Black Hawk cabin, the largest and most complex element of the helicopter structure, serves as the mounting base for key systems including the fuel tanks, engines, and main rotor transmission. Nearly 90% of cabin components – such as machined and formed parts, composite structures, and electrical harnesses – are produced in-house at PZL Mielec’s advanced manufacturing facility.
Cabins are assembled with precision at every stage, from welding and machining large structural parts to conducting detailed quality inspections. Once completed, they are either integrated into Black Hawk helicopters assembled in Poland or shipped to Sikorsky facilities in the United States for incorporation into UH-60M Black Hawks for the U.S. Army.
PZL Mielec remains one of Poland’s largest defence exporters, employing 1,700 people and indirectly supporting about 5,000 jobs across the European Union through a network of 1,200 suppliers. The Black Hawk helicopter, trusted by over 36 countries, continues to demonstrate exceptional performance and survivability, maintaining an operational readiness rate of over 92% in combat conditions.
