Raytheon Australia secures $277 million contract to continue support for Collins class submarine systems

Raytheon Australia has been awarded a $277 million contract extension to continue managing the combat system for the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines. The agreement extends the company’s long-standing role in delivering key capabilities through its 150-person team and partnerships with firms such as General Dynamics – Mission Systems.

Raytheon Australia has been awarded a $277 million contract extension to continue managing the combat system for the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines. The agreement extends the company’s long-standing role in delivering key capabilities through its 150-person team and partnerships with firms such as General Dynamics – Mission Systems.

 

“This contract extension reinforces Raytheon Australia’s 25 years of expertise as the Collins Class submarine combat system partner,” said Ohad Katz, managing director of Raytheon Australia. “As Australia’s Collins Class submarine combat system manager, we remain committed to supporting the Royal Australian Navy and industry partners in delivering this vital capability for Australia’s defence.”

 

 

Raytheon Australia has supported the Collins Class combat system since the submarines were introduced in the mid-1990s. Its operations are primarily based at Henderson Shipyard and HMAS Stirling in Perth, with further support provided from the Osborne Shipyard in Adelaide and company offices in Sydney.

Under the Combat System Management Framework, the team delivers services including system integration, architecture and design, upgrades, and implementation of the AN/BYG-1 system. Additional responsibilities cover technical support, procurement, warehousing, and freight logistics.

 

 

Since its founding in 1999, Raytheon Australia has delivered advanced defence capabilities across multiple domains in support of the Australian Defence Force. The company employs over 1,300 staff and collaborates with Defence and industry to promote national security through innovation and expertise.
