The system merges technologies from Raytheon’s Highly Integrated Synthetic Aperture Radar (HISAR) and SeaVue Multi-Role Radar (SVMR), combining proven functions into a single next-generation platform. Its open architecture allows for cost-effective, fast upgrades, ensuring operators can respond quickly to evolving threats.
“This radar represents the next step in Raytheon’s long legacy of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance innovation,” said Daniel Theisen, president of Advanced Products and Solutions at Raytheon. “By merging the proven capabilities of HISAR and SeaVue, we’re delivering a flexible, exportable and affordable radar system designed to outperform on the most demanding multi-domain surveillance missions.”
SharpSight is optimised for persistent, high-precision surveillance missions including border security, anti-surface warfare, coastal monitoring, long-range detection, and search and rescue. It also complies with current U.S. Government export policy, allowing global partners and allies access to its advanced capabilities.
