Remontowa Shipbuilding has started the construction of SIGINT-ship for the Polish Navy

On April 27, the steel cutting ceremony commencing the construction of the first in the series Saab Naval SIGINT System (SNSS) was held at Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A.

Shipbuilding contract was commissioned to the Remontowa Shipbuilding shipyard by Swedish company Saab Kockums AB, which signed a contract with the Poland’s Armament Agency for the design, construction, delivery and logistic  support of two Signal Intelligence ships within “Delfin” program for the Polish Navy.

Under the signed agreement, Saab Kockums AB carries the total responsibility for the delivery of the ships including responsible for the delivery and integration of advanced entire mission and combat systems.

Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. is responsible for the construction of ready-to-operate ships and the carrying out of all necessary tests, including conducting a full range of HAT and SAT sea dock tests.




Signal Intelligence Ships (SIGINT) under the codename “Delfin”  are designed to support the acquisition of intelligence data across the full spectrum of naval intelligence capabilities.

They will replace reconnaissance ships of project 863 currently operated by the Navy: ORP Navigator and ORP Hydrograf built in 1975 and 1976 respectively in Northern Shipyard named after of “Bohaterów Westerplatte” in Gdańsk,  now Remontowa Shipbuilding.
