Under the agreement, ARX Robotics will become RENK’s Software-Defined Defence partner, contributing to RENK’s digital transformation. In return, RENK will support ARX Robotics’ industrial growth and global expansion through its established market access and production capabilities.
“This partnership unites RENK’s expertise in high-performance mobility systems with the innovative robotics and software capabilities of ARX Robotics,” said Dr Alexander Sagel, CEO of RENK Group. “Together, we aim to scale production, expand international reach, and advance autonomous functionalities.”
The collaboration centres on integrating ARX’s AI-powered operating system, Mithra OS, with RENK’s mobility solutions. This will enable the digital modernisation of both legacy and next-generation military vehicle fleets, turning them into intelligent, connected platforms.
Marc Wietfeld, Co-Founder and CEO of ARX Robotics, stated: “Today, defence companies are approaching a turning point where software, automation, and system interconnectivity will redefine what military capability means. With our partnership with RENK, we are unlocking new opportunities for scale and global reach with RENK’s industrial strength and established market presence.”
The companies will also pursue joint product development and the launch of co-located production facilities. Key target markets for international scaling include the United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, India, and the Middle East.
The partnership aims to provide scalable, mission-ready autonomous systems tailored to regional requirements. This includes potential applications of Mithra OS in larger vehicle classes and future naval domains.
RENK and ARX Robotics are committed to developing the digital backbone of future land systems, with a shared vision for software-defined defence. Both companies are exploring ways to deepen their partnership further, including potential joint ventures or financial investments.
“This is about defining the future of unmanned mobility and setting the course for how AI, autonomy, and mobility will shape the future of European defence,” said Dr Sagel. “Europe must take responsibility for its defence capabilities, and a critical component of that is for industry leaders such as ourselves to join forces with pioneering startups.”
The collaboration also aligns with NATO’s strategic objectives by enhancing technological innovation and industrial resilience. By merging RENK’s manufacturing scale with ARX’s advanced robotics software, the partnership seeks to deliver reliable and deployable technologies that support allied deterrence and defence.
ARX Robotics’ modular platform structure and Mithra OS software are already in use across European armed forces, including in Ukraine. These technologies offer forces enhanced autonomy, real-time situational awareness, and the digital transformation of their land operations.
