RENK Group AG has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a partner from the Ukrainian Defence Industry for the supply of prototypes of the HMPT 800 transmission. The agreement is aimed at supporting the further development of an infantry fighting vehicle.

“We have the proven expertise and willingness to support Ukraine with our combat proven solutions. This MOU to jointly further develop existing mobility solutions underscores the confidence in our technology and the capacity at our facility in Muskegon,” said Ian Pain, CEO RENK America, at MSPO in Kielce, one of the most renowned international trade fairs for military technology.

The HMPT 800 transmission, already in use on multiple US and allied fighting vehicles, offers exceptional power density in a compact design. This ensures enhanced manoeuvrability and agility, with production currently carried out at RENK’s Muskegon facility in the United States.

If prototype testing proves successful, a tender will be launched for series production of an already agreed number of transmissions. The company said the memorandum highlights both confidence in its technology and its commitment to advancing mobility solutions for defence applications.
