Retia, in close cooperation with Tatra Defence Vehicle (TDV), plans to integrate Axon Vision’s EdgeSA situational awareness system into the latest PANDUR 8×8 EVO platform. The system will also be offered to the Czech Armed Forces and other international customers.
EdgeSA, an AI-based solution developed by Axon Vision, improves battlefield perception and provides early threat warnings even during closed-hatch operations. By fusing data from multiple sensors in real time, it reduces crew workload, supports automated threat detection, and enhances command decision-making.
Retia has branded its new system offering as SAAV – Situational Awareness for Armored Vehicles – encompassing both EdgeSA and integration activities for various vehicle types. The decision followed a comprehensive competitive evaluation in which Axon Vision’s technology outperformed alternatives in every category.
“As part of our projects, which we carry out in cooperation with other companies within the CSG group, we create products for our customers that meet the highest standards. To achieve this, we need reliable and top-tier partners with high-tech products. That is why we chose to collaborate with Axon Vision on the PANDUR 8×8 EVO project,” said Jan Mikulecký, CEO of Retia.
The agreement strengthens long-standing ties between Czech and Israeli defence industries, with TDV highlighting previous successful collaborations. “Since its establishment, TDV has cooperated with Israeli companies, which enables us to offer our customers powerful and efficient armoured vehicles,” said Tomáš Mohapl, CEO of TDV.
“These vehicles require high-quality electronic systems and software to operate effectively – and this applies to our latest models, the PANDUR 8×8 EVO and the TADEAS 6×6. So, we hope that our cooperation with Axon Vision will help us succeed with these vehicles on the most demanding markets,” Mohapl added.
Axon Vision’s CEO, BG. (Ret.) Roy Riftin, stated: “Our AI-powered situational awareness technology is redefining armoured vehicle operations, delivering real-time, actionable intelligence that maximises survivability and mission effectiveness.” He added that the partnership “highlights Axon Vision’s growing presence in the European defence market and reinforces its role as an integrator of AI-driven defence solutions.”
Axon Vision’s solutions are modular, platform-agnostic, and already in use across multiple military domains worldwide. By combining machine intelligence with human oversight, the company supports faster, more precise responses on land, at sea, and in the air.
