Rheinmetall is presenting its Caracal air assault vehicle at the Enforce Tac exhibition in Nürnberg. The company is showcasing the platform as a fast, powerful and versatile solution designed to meet the mobility requirements of modern armed forces.

The Caracal combines many years of development expertise from Mercedes-Benz AG with a newly developed superstructure by Rheinmetall. According to the company, the vehicle meets all the mobility demands of today’s military operations.

Germany and the Netherlands have ordered a total of 3,058 vehicles for their joint airborne forces, and these are currently in production. The Ukrainian special forces have also been using the platform since 2024.

The Caracal is based on proven technologies and integrates advanced features in tactics, safety and performance. It is designed to deliver maximum mobility across all deployment scenarios while allowing the integration of ballistic protection, a range of weapon systems and technologies, as well as modern reconnaissance and communication systems.

Rheinmetall states that the platform is not only technically advanced and logistically sustainable worldwide in the long term, but also highly economical. The vehicle can be flexibly adapted to the evolving requirements of modern warfare, both now and in the future.

Close cooperation between Rheinmetall and Mercedes-Benz has resulted in what the company describes as both a cutting-edge military vehicle and a strategic alliance combining the strengths of the two partners. The Caracal, paired with the new G-Class 464 military series, brings together a mass-production automotive platform with a modular, scalable industrial design.

Rheinmetall is responsible for the final assembly of role-specific military equipment kits and is able to manufacture these locally in customer countries, adapting them as required and producing the necessary quantities. The company also provides logistical support throughout the entire product life cycle.

Orders from Germany, the Netherlands and Ukraine, along with enquiries from numerous other countries, underline the level of international interest in the platform. At Enforce Tac 2026, Rheinmetall is presenting its portfolio at stand 426 in hall 10, while the next-generation Fuchs JAGM armoured missile destroyer is being exhibited at stand 310 in hall 11 within the Armed Forces Area.
