The first series-model deliveries of these Role 2B NATO-standard systems are planned for 2029, with deployment intended for the German brigade stationed in Lithuania among others. Rheinmetall Project Solutions GmbH will implement the contract on behalf of the company.
Each mobile medical facility includes eleven vehicles equipped with multifunctional containers that remain mounted during operation. These containers are installed on military HX trucks manufactured by Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles, enabling rapid deployment in both national and alliance defence operations.
The units are designed to deliver life-saving emergency surgery and intensive care near the front line, providing support to mechanised land forces in high-threat environments. “This will enable us to provide our soldiers on the ground with the best possible medical care,” said Dr Deniz Akitürk, Managing Director of Rheinmetall Project Solutions GmbH.
With unmatched mobility and protection within NATO, the Role 2B medical systems offer capabilities that have not previously existed in this format. The agreement also permits future orders of additional systems beyond the initial delivery.
