Rheinmetall secures EUR 21 million order for artillery ammunition

By Defence Industry Europe

German defence contractor Rheinmetall has announced a EUR 21 million contract to supply 155mm M107 artillery ammunition to an international customer. The deal, finalised in December 2024, will see five-digit quantities of the ammunition delivered during the first half of 2025

The M107 projectile, in service with multiple NATO nations for decades, remains one of the most widely used artillery shells globally. It is compatible with a variety of 155mm weapon systems, underscoring its versatility and continued relevance on the battlefield.

Manufacturing will be carried out by Rheinmetall Expal Munitions in Spain, leveraging the company’s longstanding expertise in large-calibre ammunition. This contract highlights Rheinmetall’s role as a leading global supplier of military-grade munitions.
