The decision followed extensive testing of the next-generation infantry fighting vehicle, which will be equipped with a two-man Lance turret and configured specifically for Ukraine’s armed forces. Rheinmetall said further batches are planned, including production in Ukraine.
“We are grateful for the trust that Ukraine has placed in us,” said Armin Papperger, CEO of Rheinmetall AG. “We would also like to thank the German government for its support. This order is a fundamental success that underscores our continued efforts to support Ukraine.”
Rheinmetall described the Lynx KF41 family as designed to meet current and future requirements through a high level of modularity, an open electronic architecture and the largest protected interior volume in its class. The company said the vehicle combines mobility and safety through a scalable weight concept, an efficient drive system, advanced protection technology and improved crew ergonomics for long missions.
