The expansion follows three consecutive years of 60% year-on-year growth, according to the Dutch company. Robin Radar said it has installed more than 800 radar systems worldwide and is working with manufacturing partners to increase production.
Chief executive Siete Hamminga pointed to the cost of defending valuable equipment against inexpensive drones. “Drones have changed the economics of the battlefield, where high-value assets can be taken out by low-cost drones that are mass-produced, while the countermeasures can cost many times more than the threat they address.”
The company said experience from deployments in Ukraine, the EU and the Gulf has informed recent product changes. Its IRIS long-range mode has increased the radar’s instrumented range from five to 12 kilometres, while a new maritime capability allows it to operate aboard large vessels.
The Delft facility provides more room for prototyping, specialised production, system integration and servicing. Customer support and service facilities have grown fourfold, and Robin Radar expects its workforce to exceed 300 people by the end of 2026.
The move follows the opening of a Robin Radar operational facility in Northern Virginia several weeks earlier. The company said the Delft site will support new radar products and larger-scale production within Europe.
