Roshel and ST Engineering sign agreement to produce ExtremV vehicles in Canada for Arctic operations

At CANSEC 2025, Canadian military vehicle manufacturer Roshel signed an exclusive agreement with ST Engineering to produce the ExtremV platform in Canada. The vehicle is designed for extreme weather and complex terrain and is positioned as a key candidate for the Domestic Arctic Mobility Enhancement (DAME) programme.

The ExtremV has demonstrated performance across snow, ice, and water, enhancing operational capabilities for military and emergency response teams in Canada’s Arctic. Protecting the Arctic remains a strategic priority for Canada, especially as climate change reshapes the region and global interest increases.

Roshel will lead domestic production and will engage with Indigenous-owned companies to support key aspects of the programme. “Inclusion of Indigenous partners is a vital part of our approach to building long-term, locally rooted capabilities in Canada’s North,” the company stated.

“This partnership is not just about mobility,” said Roshel. “It is about building Canadian content, creating jobs, and ensuring that the equipment we deploy in critical regions is developed by those who understand the operational environment best.”

Roshel also called for ongoing commitment to national industry. “We urge continued support for Canadian defence manufacturing and northern engagement. A strong Arctic presence starts with a strong domestic industry,” the company concluded.
