The deployed aircraft will operate alongside personnel from 12 Squadron and the Qatari Typhoon squadron. The move is intended to reinforce cooperation with regional partners and support ongoing joint operations.
According to the RAF, the deployment reflects the United Kingdom’s commitment to regional stability and collective security with partners in the Gulf. Operating from Qatar, the additional Typhoon aircraft are tasked with supporting the air defence of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
The deployment is also intended to enhance the RAF’s ability to conduct air operations in the region. It will contribute to broader efforts aimed at deterring escalation and maintaining security across the Middle East.

The Typhoon is the RAF’s principal multi-role combat aircraft and can perform air policing, air defence and precision strike missions. Its deployment underlines the RAF’s continued role in supporting the United Kingdom’s defence commitments and cooperating closely with international partners.
