RTX secures $50 billion umbrella contract for 20-year support of Patriot missile defence system

By Defence Industry Europe

The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded RTX a $50 billion umbrella contract to support the Patriot missile defence programme. The 20-year agreement covers systems production, spare parts, services, and other forms of support, with work set to conclude by 31 July 2045.

According to the Pentagon, contract performance will take place both within and outside the continental United States. The deal allows for “C” type subsumable contracts under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity framework, with pricing set through negotiation.

Funding will be provided solely by the contract’s customers, including the Defense Logistics Agency, the U.S. Army, and the Department of Defense. These funds may vary in appropriation type and fiscal year, as stated in the contract announcement.
