These tanks, delivered in anticipation of 2024, feature significant enhancements compared to the models provided to the Russian army in 2022.

Uralvagonzavod and the Ural Design Bureau of Transport Machine-Building have continuously improved these armored vehicles, incorporating feedback from their use in combat zones and suggestions from tank operators. These improvements primarily focus on enhancing protection and operational characteristics, vital for safeguarding crew lives and increasing efficiency in combat missions, Rostec said in statement.

The T-90M Proryv represents the most advanced model in the T-90 family, exceptionally suited for modern combat, including all-around protection, a highly automated fire control system, and enhanced survivability measures. The T-90M’s extensive upgrades, including a completely new turret, upgraded power and transmission systems, and enhanced armor protection, significantly surpass its predecessor’s combat effectiveness while maintaining the T-90’s hallmark reliability and minimal maintenance requirements.

The T-72 remains a versatile platform for upgrades. At Uralvagonzavod, older T-72 tanks undergo comprehensive refurbishment, transforming into modern, powerful, maneuverable, well-armed, and protected T-72B3M tanks, rivaling their foreign counterparts in capabilities.
