Saab partners with Maxar to enhance space-based multi-domain defence tech

By Defence Industry Europe

Swedish defence company Saab has announced a new partnership with Maxar Intelligence, a prominent provider of geospatial intelligence. The collaboration is aimed at enhancing the modern battlespace through the use of space-based technologies.

Under the agreement, Saab will utilise Maxar’s advanced satellite capabilities to develop targeting solutions, GPS-resilient systems, and advanced C5ISR (Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) technologies. These developments are intended to ensure effective operations even in GPS-denied environments.

“Our collaboration with Maxar represents a significant leap forward in our commitment to use information from the Space domain and thereby enhancing the strategic defence capabilities of Europe and beyond,” said Görgen Johansson, head of Saab business area Dynamics.

“By integrating Maxar’s high-end geospatial insights and satellite capabilities with our advanced defence systems, we are setting new standards in the effectiveness and reliability of military operations across multiple domains,” Johansson added.
