Saab secures €549 million orders for Arexis Electronic Warfare System for German Eurofighters

According to a press release by Saab, the Swedish defence company has received two orders from Airbus Defence and Space for the Arexis Electronic Warfare (EW) sensor suite to equip German Eurofighters. The combined order value is approximately EUR 549 million, with deliveries scheduled between 2025 and 2028.

According to a press release by Saab, the Swedish defence company has received two orders from Airbus Defence and Space for the Arexis Electronic Warfare (EW) sensor suite to equip German Eurofighters. The combined order value is approximately EUR 549 million, with deliveries scheduled between 2025 and 2028.

 

The first order continues a March 2024 contract with Airbus for the integration of the Arexis EW suite on the Eurofighter EK (Elektronischer Kampf). It is valued at approximately EUR 291 million and has been booked immediately by Saab.

The second order, worth around EUR 258 million, includes artificial intelligence technology developed by Saab and its strategic partner Helsing. This order is subject to authority approval before finalisation.

 

 

“We are proud to deliver Arexis to the German Air Force, which further strengthens the Swedish-German cooperation,” said Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab. “Arexis is one of the most advanced fully digital sensors and jamming systems available on the market. The system will improve the Eurofighter’s situational awareness and survivability on the modern battlefield,” he added.
