The agreement will see both companies combine expertise to deliver advanced technologies, including navigation systems for GNSS-denied environments, atomic clock timeservers, and vehicle and handheld optronics. Its flexible structure allows upcoming orders to be managed quickly while adapting to evolving defence requirements.
“With this strategic agreement, we are laying the foundation for a strong partnership that opens up new perspectives and enables us to drive innovation together, thus contributing to actively shape the future of our industry” pointed out Christian Martens from Rheinmetall’s Business Unit Defence Electronics.
Marzell Schiller, CEO of Safran Electronics & Defense Germany, added: “We’re excited to deepen our collaboration with Rheinmetall and introduce state-of-the-art solutions. This agreement reflects the trust between our teams and opens new possibilities for ambitious projects ahead.”
The framework simplifies logistics and administration, allowing both firms to concentrate on innovation and delivering high-value solutions to end users. Rheinmetall Electronics has already placed orders for Safran navigation and timing products such as Versasynch, benefiting from the agreement’s streamlined procurement.
This partnership supports France and Germany’s joint commitment to building a competitive and innovative European defence industry. By pooling technological resources, Safran and Rheinmetall aim to reinforce the development of a more competitive and autonomous European defence sector.
